I will be
going to school for nursing and start this September. I have
wanted to go into the medical field ever since I was a little
girl, but it wasn't until high school that I decided on nursing
as my chosen profession. Since 9th grade, I have taken the
courses in school that would help me accomplish this goal and
also help me with my other passion, writing. I took a couple of
AP courses so I can get college credit and ease my workload in
the first couple years of college.
When it
came time to pick a college, my parents asked that I pick one
that was within a days travel. That was fine with me, because my
number 1 and 2 choices were only a couple of hours away. It just
so happens that my number one choice accepted me and, even
though I still applied to the others, I started making
preparations to go to Messiah.
I also have
many other interests. I am an avid reader, sometimes reading 3
books at a time. This was probably how I became interested in
writing. I also like to help my community. I have taught classes
on writing at my local library and each year, I donate an entire
weekend to help the Ronald McDonald House when they put on
American Girl fashion shows to raise money for the charity. I am
very active in school. My sports are soccer and swimming. I am
the leader of the chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes
that meets in school. I am also a member of the art club and the
environmental club. I am also a nursery worker at my church.
Update:
I am in my
second year of school and am currently studying abroad. During
my first year in Nursing, I had to take a couple Psychology
courses. This is how I found out that Psychology is a better fit
for me. This is want I wanted to do. Therefore I changed my
major and am currently a Psychology student.
